New Stetson Photo & Video . . .
The new photo and video clip of Stetson does not do this bull justice at all, but we knew it was important to try & get a new photo presented on him. Stetson spent last summer and fall in collection, arriving in Alabama just in time to be turned out with cows. After running with cows for about 60 days, he made the trip back to his original home in Kansas where he has only seen a few weeks rest before needing to once again go out & breed cows. Jeff took the new photo and video just prior to Stetson heading back out to go to work again. Jeff has a very tight breeding season at Rock Creek Ranch, so we hope to give Stetson a good rest this fall before he needs to resume his work duties in December at Gibbs Farms. We will hopefully get another photo just before he begins his winter work duties.

Spring 2009 Progeny Report . . .
Two weeks ago Gordon & Doug visited Eichacker Simmentals in Salem, South Dakota to see their first Stetson calves, all of which were unassisted and out of first calf heifers. Compared to several proven calving ease Angus sires, the Stetson calves had the lowest sire group birth weight average and Steve Eichacker commented, “Their vigor at birth is really good, they came easy and were up and going quick”. Darby Line of Triangle J Ranch in Miller, Nebraska and Jeff Houck of Rock Creek Ranch in Americus, Kansas have both reported Stetson calves on the ground with very light birth weights. Both Darby and Jeff commented they felt very comfortable that Stetson was a safe choice for breeding heifers. Stetson semen is available from your local Select Sires representative.
